With London Fashion Week close on the horizon, I have been scouring the internet recently for outfit inspiration. It may be all about SS14 in the fashion world, but as the weather and the slowly shorter days show, it’s soon back to our leggings, boots and coats as Winter draws in. With University another ‘factor’ to consider, my key aspects when looking for A/W wear is ‘comfort’ as well as style. There’s nothing I hate more than being in ill-fitted, tight tops, for me – it’s all about soft flowing fabrics, brand new silky leggings and comfy jumpers.
But comfort doesn’t have to compromise on style, especially not in The Pure Collection, a gorgeous fashion site I came across whilst browsing, which honestly has the best capsule collection I’ve seen so far for AW13. With a pop of colour, silky fabrics and cashmere. Cashmere! It really is comfort and style combined.
There is nothing too ‘fussy’ about the collection, which I love. It looks very casual and ‘thrown on’, in a way, but at the same time very calculated, immaculate and well put together.
My favourite ‘look’ is this gorgeous bold orange shirt, teamed with a pair of leggings. It might be simple and rather casual looking, but it is still on trend and oh so comfortable. Similarly, I love the Trench coat in the collection (which could also be worn with the shirt and leggings combination) as it’s smart and chic, without being too formal. Trench coats (although never officially ‘out of fashion’) are making a HUGE comeback this season, so keep your eyes peeled. They should be tailored enough (like the one above) to flatter your figure and provide curves in all the right places (yes, even under a coat) but leave a little room for a jumper or shirt underneath. They’re not the warmest of coats, but they are perfect for the Summer-Autumn, Winter-Spring transition.
