Some of my favourite make-up brands aren’t necessarily the most well-known ones, in fact – one of my latest finds is Rouge Bunny Rouge – a very popular beauty brand in Paris and beyond, but far less talked about here in the UK.
Because I’m such a fan of their products, I have made it my mission to spread the word a little more about the brand itself – starting with this review. If you’re coming along to my Blogging & Cocktails event in June, you will also have the opportunity to try out this lovely brand – as you will each be receiving one/two of their products in the goody bags!
Rouge Bunny Rouge Highlighting Powder
I used to just think ‘highlighting’ was a fancy word for ‘blusher’, until I tried out this product. With a really creamy, soft application – this really does lift and highlight the cheekbone area especially when applied just under the eyes and on the apples of your cheeks. Unlike other blushers/highlighters I’ve tried, this really does stay in place for a good 10-12 hours, rather than melting off or sinking into skin. It’s quite mattifying, so it makes your skin look very smooth and soft but the glittery particles (yep, technical term) give it a touch of the ‘dewy glow’ look. I personally love the ‘Sweet To Touch’ shade (pictured) but if you prefer a more warm, peachy, bronzed glow – I would go for ‘Goddess’.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Long Lasting Eye Shadow
75 samples of this product popped through my door last week (as they are going into the goody bags), so I couldn’t resist but try one for myself. Sent in the shades ‘Bejewelled Skylark’ and ‘Tantalising Lovebird’ (don’t you just love the names of these products), the iridescent eyeshadow is creamy in texture, yet dries and seals matte. Once set, it lasts a good 8 hours, without smudging, sliding or fading.
The Bejewelled Skylark is a rich chocolate brown with shimmers of deep red (my favourite) and looks gorgeous with an evening outfit or a LBD. Tantalising Lovebird is more of a frosty coral pink and the kind of colour that I would normally use as a base, before using a darker shade for the creaseline. I can’t wait for all you #LDNBloggersParty girls to try these out for yourselves, as they are fantastic eye shadows – far superior to even some high end make-up brand shadows.
XXX Lip Plump Gloss
I’ve always found that glosses that claim to ‘plump’ your lips can be quite uncomfortable to wear, as all they seem to do is make your lips tingle and feel quite strange. I have quite full lips naturally, so plumping gloss isn’t something I’d normally try (or wear) but what I love about this gloss is its staying power and shimmery shine. It doesn’t make your lips tingle uncomfortably, but simply makes them look a little fuller by creating a protective film over your lips, filled with colour and shine. It stays for around an hour before having to re-apply (which in my books, is a long time as they tend to come off within 20 minutes usually), even if you happen to be sipping cocktails (I’ve tried and tested it personally).
