With British weather being even more temperamental than usual, there really is no better time for a little spot of coat shopping. As much as I hate to admit it, the rainy, dark and dull weather really does affect my mood and my fashion choices. Whilst in the summer I’m much bolder with my fashion choices, going for prints, patterns and bright pops of colour, the Winter tends to be rather monochrome. In more ways than one. So, when Seasalt Cornwall emailed me last week, offering to send me an on trend rain coat for the fashion event of the year – London Fashion Week, initially I was expecting to be bitterly disappointed.
You see, the word ‘raincoat’ doesn’t closely associate itself with fashion, or colour – or fun for that matter, but the collection Seasalt had to offer was the complete opposite. The Seafolly tin cloth jacket range, which I eventually opted for, was jam packed with gorgeous pops of colour – with mustard yellow, apple green and cherry red featuring. Similarly, their tin cloth mac’s can be purchased in an assortment of cute, colourful patterns. And with a gorgeous stripy white and navy interior lining, it really is the most fashion forward, on trend raincoat I’ve ever seen.
Unfortunately, due to being in a rush and packing my already extremely heavy, jam packed bag (full of an assortment of cameras), it completely by-passed my mind to pick up my raincoat, which I instantly regretted as London was just as dreary and drizzly as Bournemouth, but since then – I have been making full use of it.
I love how warm, cozy and dry it keeps you, without the huge bulk of a puffy jacket, or a duffle coat. Finally, something flattering – and fashionable.
