With October almost here and winter approaching, we are taking our cue from Marc Jacobs, Céline and Stella McCartney and wrapping up in layers of wool (anyone daring the head-to-toe knit ensembles???). Keeping knitwear super oversized and fuzzy for an ultra-luxe knitwear appeal, add an edge by combining with Alexander Wang staple, black leather. This time I’m choosing these loose culottes from Zara which are bang-on trend and so comfortable. I hadn’t embraced the “culottes” trend all these months because I always thought I was too short to wear such wide trousers that stop mid-shin; never thought it could be flattering, but this leather alternative has made me a convert. Wear with ankle boots (those slightly over-the-ankle block heel boots are the best for this look) to get the effortless Chloé feel.
The number 1 cover-up this season is the cape, of course. Looking to Burberry, Ralph Lauren and Roberto Cavalli, the sumptuous blanket cape is a must-have. This one from New Look offers the same bohemian feel of Burberry’s hit cape, with a touch of Navajo, at just £25 – a fabulous steal. ASOS’ suede fringe clutch is a fabulous alternative to the most coveted bag – the boho Gucci fringed shoulder bag (which, by now, is completely sold out) and it costs just £21 – click on the link above to get it.
In true Claudia fashion, I’m leaving behind bright colours and prints for those airy months of Spring and Summer. Loving monochrome now under the grey skies of London – and black is always the best idea, no matter the weather or time. This Autumn/Winter, you can mix up your wardrobe with fuzzy sweaters, jumper dresses, midi skirts and coats (or capes!) in soft beige hues of caramel, ecru, eggshell…lush and elegant, they are the perfect colours and look fantastic with grey and pastels. As it’s Breast Cancer month, a baby pink ribbon will look even better pinned to your effortless off-white looks in oversize. Plus, this powder pink clutch from ZARA is the ideal accessory to a monochrome beige ensemble. Stack silver band rings (this 5-pack is less than £4 from H&M – buy two sets!!) and hug the clutch to your chest, in the impeccable style of Carven.
As always, you can shop quickly and without a fuss by clicking on the links above.
Don’t forget to wear your pink ribbon…enjoy and Happy October!
