Buying a house is an expensive business. Although I haven’t had any personal experience of it as of yet, my boyfriend is currently in the process of purchasing a new build, so I can appreciate quite how financially draining it can be. Once you’ve stretched your budget as far as it will go for the house itself, you then have to factor in all the other elements, like stamp duty, legal fees and estate agents commission. Oh and of course the council tax, house insurance and millions of other silly little costs that make it so difficult for a young person to get on the property ladder.
So when you’re all moved in and finally free of those costs (although something else is bound to come up), there isn’t an awful lot left for you to actually kit your brand new house out. Which takes the fun away a bit. Obviously the bricks and mortar are the most expensive and primary part, but wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to decorate it and make your mark?

Just in case it happens to be me, I just thought I’d put together a little home decor wish list because I often spend hours pouring over interiors on Pinterest and so I figured this might make that time well spent. Oops.

It’s expensive business all this home buying and kitting your place out, but I’m sure it’s 100% worth it. I’m so excited to see what my boyfriends house is going to look like when it’s all built and ready (we keep visiting it every weekend or so) and maybe, I’ll be in the position to buy my very own home in a few years time.
