Blogging: Aspirational or Unattainable?

Undeniably, the blogging industry has changed rather drastically over the last two years. Certainly, in the five years that I’ve been running this website, blogs have gone from raw, unedited accounts of someones life, with fancy fonts and overexposed images, to fully fledged editorial sites in their own right. Personally, it’s been an exciting development to watch and I’ve been eagerly viewing from the sidelines, keeping my blog ticking over while studying, until I finished university and could really start devoting all my time into making high quality content. However, I know that many bloggers feel that the way that the industry…

Warner Bros. Studio Tour

Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love Harry Potter. Or maybe they don’t. I’m not exactly secretive of it, but I’m probably more of a hidden-die-hard-fan, rather than one who sports a Hogwarts t-shirt and time turner necklace. But anyway, I think this slight obsession is evident in the fact that I’ve watched the films over 20 times each and have visited the Warner Bros Studio Tour in Watford (where the all eight films were shot) a grand total of five times in the four years it has been open. The TV BAFTA’s 2016

It’s not everyday that an invite to the TV BAFTA’s pops through your email inbox. Having been fixated by the world of television celebrities from a young age, my dream job for almost a decade was to become a showbiz journalist, reporting live from the red carpet. This aspiration shaped my subject choices at school and my University degree choice, as I headed to Bournemouth University to study Multi-Media Journalism. Blogging Tips: Starting Out & Growing Your Following

For some reason, the last few weeks have seen a staggering number of emails pop into my inbox, all asking similar questions on how to set up a blog and grow a following. In all honesty, I’m flattered that people think I am an expert (or someone to ask) about this topic, because I’m still very much learning myself but I thought rather than send off 30 + waffly emails, I’d collate all of my ‘knowledge’ into one mammoth post. Hopefully then, that’s an easier way to share my experiences and tips in a beneficial manner. So, lets get started shall…

The End Of An Era

That’s it. I’m finished with University. I’m no longer a journalism student at Bournemouth. The days of studying are all over! *well, if I pass my degree* It feels very weird to be saying the above, because if I’m honest, these last three years of studying have really been testing for me. It would be an understatement to say that I didn’t really enjoy or fit in at University from the beginning. It’s not for lack of trying either – but unfortunately, the whole concept of student life just wasn’t my cup of tea. So, I thought I’d put together…
