If you think laterally about the logistics of blogging and how far it’s come, it’s honestly incredible. To be able to set up your own space on the world wide web, which has hundreds of thousands of millions of websites and start writing about your life, generating readers all over the world is something that is inexplicably unimaginable just twenty years ago – yet now, girls (and guys) around the globe are making their lives, their living.
If you own a blog yourself, you’ll know that often – blood, sweat and tears go into maintaining your little space, as it reflects a piece of you and so you protect it as you would your own child. Hours are spent writing, reading and tweeting – and above all, you enjoy it, so to be able to get to the stage where you could earn a bit of pocket money or even make a career out of your site is appealing. Initially, the thought of ‘selling’ a bit of your space could seem a little daunting, but when it’s done in the right way, it can be extremely rewarding. 2014 paved the way for some amazing blog revolutions and 2015 is to be even bigger.
The BloggerBrandCollective is a brand new venture which aims to assist in the busy world of blogging, organising everything you could possibly need – contacts, event listings, diaries, opportunities, ‘blog job listings’ and sponsorships all under one roof, one umbrella. It’s the little black bloggers book that you’ve always needed, right in your pocket.
It pushes for mutually beneficial relationships between brands and bloggers, ensuring that you are greeted with the fairest deal possible for your hard-work. Your time, your thoughts and your pictures are valuable – so I think it’s really great to have a company pushing on your behalf to ensure it doesn’t go unnoticed.
When you’re a blogger, you have to be everything – your own marketing department, your editorial team, your photographer, your editor and your website designer, so what the BloggerBrandCollective is trying to do is take the pressure off your shoulders in some respect, presenting you with an abundance of opportunities which you can pick and choose at your leisure. If it doesn’t fit in with what you blog about, no pressure.
At present, the site is taking sign up’s from bloggers all over the world over on their website here. You simply leave your name, URL and stats to be added to their blogger books and once the full site launches in 2015, you’ll be the first to know.
Not only will the site contain opportunities for you to browse but it will also present you with the latest news from the blogging world, forums to swap tips, interviews with some of the UK’s top bloggers and an interactive community for writers all over the country. At present, us bloggers are only really able to communicate via Twitter or Instagram, so this will provide a whole new platform for inspiration. Even if you don’t want to make money from your blog, it’s an outlet to connect, build new blogging relationships and discover what the community has to offer.
I’m really excited to see how the site develops and what is in store for us bloggers! Until then, make sure you’re on board by signing up here – I’ve already submitted my details! Watch this space!
