I’ve previously included guest posts on my blog, and they seem to have gone down really well. It’s nice to be able to read a post written by someone different, as its engaging to read a different writing style – and learn about others fashion inspirations. So this week, Mel Mould from Media Mamalade has written a guest post for Scarlett London. I read Mel’s blog daily, and its absolutely fab. She has a great style, and includes lots of great tips for readers! So, here’s her post – enjoy!
Style/Outfits
To be honest, I’m not really sure how you’d describe my style and fashion sense … all I can really say is i am a compulsive shopper, live far beyond my means and am always hunting for the next must have item. I don’t necessarily follow trends, I tend to just buy things I like (OFTEN). That’s why my wardrobe is so jumbled and why my outfit choices and styling can change drastically from day to day. Some days I am pretty rah, others I can be on trend with skinnys and heels, and some-days I like to glam up with the seasons latest crazes.
When I was asked to pick my favourite outfit, I really didn’t have a clue, it totally depends what mood i’m in. But as it happens, I am obsessed with leather at the moment, and so I thought it would probably be suitable to do a guest blog about this. So my outfit of choice was my new bargain H&M leather high waisted shorts (£14.99), teamed with my Zara silk and gold detailed blouse (£49.99) topped off with my favourite chunky black wedges (£120). I really like this look, I think despite the heels and short shorts, it kind of works as a quirky day look. Half the time with my job, I end up having to rush to events and parties straight from work, so outfits like this really work for the day to night transition, and everyone loves a pair of leg elongating heels.
There is one thing about my style which is always a given … I am a huge lover of designed handbags. So whatever my outfit of choice, and no matter how cheap and chic I dress, i will ALWAYS be teaming my look with one of my favourite Mulberry bags and my staple jewellery pieces. Whilst I do accessorise dependent on my outfit of choice … i’ll always have on my Marc Jacobs watch, Vintage rings, Links of London and Chloe charm bracelets and my ‘M’ (for marmalade) gold trinket necklace.
I think perhaps it’s my mixture of high street bargains and designer keep safes that define my somewhat chameleon like style.
