Whilst Fifty Shades of Grey still remains unread by me, there’s no denying it has taken the world by storm, with even those who’ve never picked up a book in years following suit and reading the racey novel. In the last few weeks however, everyone has got a little tired of hearing about the same title and it’s time for something new. Move over Fifty Shades of Grey, make way for the new nail trend for next season – the Five Shades Of Grey!
Gorgeous nail polish brand ‘Eye Candy’ have recently brought out five lovely shades (of which I have four of) which can be mixed and matched to create a ‘fifty shades of grey’ inspired look. The collection features a ‘all night long’, a deep black colour, which can be applied under each of the shades to create a more textured ‘graphite’ effect, ‘Artic’ which is a magnetic wave glitter grey, ‘Cracklin Star’ a sparkly silver which also happens to create a cracked effect when layered over other colours and ‘What a Steal’, a dark glittery grey.
I have mixed and matched the shades in order to show you the different effects that can be created, however next time – I think I am going to try the Magnetic Wave Artic on it’s own, as it creates a really eye catching effect and is really easy to use. It literally takes 5 minutes to do a whole hand of magnetic nails and there are no fiddly bits, as you simply swipe on one coat, leave it to dry, swipe on another and place the magnet (which is in the lid of the nail polish) over the nail, resting the cap guide just over your cuticle so that you don’t smudge it. And Ta dahh! Normally, low priced (but high quality) magnetic nail polishes are very hard to come by, as they are endorsed by the bigger brands (who charge £18+ for the magnetic polishes), however this shade is priced at £6.66 and can be bought from Sainsbury’s stores nationwide or online.
All of the shades used above can be purchased from Sainsbury’s and prices start at £5.00!
