Blogging Tips: Starting Out & Growing Your Following

For some reason, the last few weeks have seen a staggering number of emails pop into my inbox, all asking similar questions on how to set up a blog and grow a following. In all honesty, I’m flattered that people think I am an expert (or someone to ask) about this topic, because I’m still very much learning myself but I thought rather than send off 30 + waffly emails, I’d collate all of my ‘knowledge’ into one mammoth post. Hopefully then, that’s an easier way to share my experiences and tips in a beneficial manner. So, lets get started shall…

The End Of An Era

That’s it. I’m finished with University. I’m no longer a journalism student at Bournemouth. The days of studying are all over! *well, if I pass my degree* It feels very weird to be saying the above, because if I’m honest, these last three years of studying have really been testing for me. We’re always in a rush

I don’t know about you but I’m forever wishing my time away. For the whole three years at University, I’ve been pining for it to end. My Plans For The Future

When it comes to blogging, I’m usually quite organised however this post is being written at 7.10pm on the day it’s due to go live. My university deadlines have pretty much taken over my life for the past two years, as my Journalism course is quite intense, however I’m proud to say that since July last year, I’ve blogged every other day, without fail and never missed a single one. For me, it wasn’t about proving anything to anyone or trying to boost my page-views with extra content, but ensuring that it was something I could feasibly do and put…

Blogger Desk Essentials

I spend between six and ten hours at my desk on an average day (before slowly migrating to my bed with my laptop), so making sure it both looks pretty and is functional is very important to me. When it comes to working from home, alongside writing a dissertation – staying motivated is also at the top of my agenda – and something, if I’m completely honest, I find very difficult. I’ve recently moved bedrooms (finally persuading my brother to swap with me) which means I’ve been able to move a lot of my furniture into one place (for the…
